WHOLESALE TO FISH MERCHANTS, FISH SHOPS AND SUPERMARKET CHAINS

The company supplies them with farmed fish on a daily basis (the majority of which comes from its own production units), with fresh wild-caught fish – seafood which buys from the largest fish markets in Greece (mainly Nea Michaniona of Thessaloniki) and with defrozen seafood, which have been thawed in conditions suitable for preserving their quality, at the company’s central facilities.

IMPORTS

IL MONDO deals with imports of wild-caught fish and farmed fish (e.g. salmon) from European countries, like Italy, Spain and Norway.

FISH FARMING

IL MONDO has one fish farming unit in Haliki of Amvrakikos Gulf (33% stake in the company Fish Farm Amvrakikou S.A.) and one fish farming unit in Palionisi of Amvrakikos Gulf (100% owned). The geographical location of the units is in Paliampela of Aitoloakarnania. Their annual production capacity is 250 tons and 450 tons of fish respectively. The species farmed are sea bream, sea bass, red porgy and meager.

RETAIL

The company operates two branches in Preveza and Agrinio, where the consumers have the opportunity to purchase either fresh fish or ready-cooked (grilled – fried) fish, by choosing directly from the fish market’s counter. Also there is the opportunity to taste from an a la carte menu of dishes, which is based on fish and seafood. Finally, the two branches supply other restaurants and smaller fish merchants, each within the boundaries of its geographical area.
